Community Gathers for a Great Cause

North Branch Rod & Gun Hosts the The Ladies Auxiliary Pork Steak Supper.  Proceeds to support the Humbird Pop-up Food Pantry

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, the Ladies Auxiliary partnered with the North Branch Rod & Gun to host their highly anticipated Pork Steak Feed, an event that drew nearly 200 attendees from across the area flocked to the event, showing overwhelming support for a cause close to everyone’s heart—feeding families in need.

The day was a perfect example of what happens when a community comes together for the common good. Laughter and conversation filled the air as families, neighbors, and friends enjoyed delicious pork steak with all the fixings and dessert, all while contributing to a meaningful cause. The money raised will help support the Humbird Pop-Up Food Bank from Feed My People, an organization working tirelessly to combat hunger and food insecurity in the area.

The Humbird Pop-Up Food Bank mission is simple, but critical: ensuring that no family in the area goes hungry. On average, the local pop-up food bank helps over 200 families keep food on their tables each week, and the funds from this event will go a long way toward supporting that mission. For the families who benefit, this support is much more than just a meal. It means peace of mind for parents, knowing their children won’t go to bed hungry. It means that students can focus on their studies instead of worrying about their next meal. And for many, it means the strength to get through a long day of work or chores.

Hunger isn’t just about missing meals. It affects every aspect of a person’s life, especially children, who need proper nutrition to focus on school, stay healthy, and grow. The efforts of Feed My People are crucial in filling this gap, ensuring that these children—and the adults in their lives—have the energy and mental clarity to meet the challenges of daily life.

In the end, the Ladies Auxiliary Pork Steak Feed isn’t just about raising money; it was about raising hope. It was a testament to the power of community and the importance of standing together to take care of one another. The support from this event will keep pantries stocked, bellies full, and hearts warm.
